Five Great Gifts To Give List 32
Good Morning,
Today I have pulled gifts from the web.
Halloween is right around the corner and several of the items below would fit the bill nicely. Available on the web or in the store, Little Shop of Artists.
From The Alchemists Vessel
Tiny Sterling Silver skulls and Jet beads are unique and undead adorable in this pair of earrings. Great for Goths, Rockers, Halloween or Necromancers of all kinds!
Sterling Silver skull charms, accent beads and fish hook ear wires are paired with shiny black genuine Jet beads.
Arrives boxed, ready for gift giving.
Mina Harker, beloved of two men, one not for this Earth. Perhaps a gift
bestowed to lovely lady by the Count himself. Garnet beads, perhaps
representing love or life's blood, rest atop Sterling Silver Bat charms,
a most recognized symbol. Cute and just right for any Thrall,
Vampy-Vamp or aspiring Elvira.
18" total length. This adorable and very shiny Gothic / Day of The
Dead (Dia de los Muertos) themed necklace set sparkles and gleams with
faceted glass beads in Black, Smoky Purple, and Silver Bi-cone shapes.
The focal point is a feminine "Tibetan Silver" Pendant measuring 1-1/2" x
3-4" of a stylized skull clutching a rose between the teeth. Finished
with a white metal chain for durability and Lobster Claw clasp.
Although the earrings are not an exact match, they carry on the flower motif with a cute daisy atop their grinning heads. Finished with Black and Smoky Purple glass beads and suspend from Silver Plated Fish Hook ear wires.
*Designers Note: "Tibetan Silver" usually contains little or no silver whatsoever, if there is any silver content in the piece it is about one or two percent. It resembles an antiqued silver piece and is highly popular in jewelry creation for today's current fashion trends. It is mostly Tin and Zinc, very much like pewter, and is usually nickel and lead free, due to allergies to these metals.
This Chain may be added to the length for an additional cost of $5.00
Sold as a set these items may be purchased individually upon request.
18" - Fun and fresh in green glass beads and "Tibetan Silver" Skull and
Rose Pendant with not-so matching earrings that carry the flower motif
with a cute daisy perched atop their smiling faces.
Tibetan Silver usually contains no silver what so ever, if there is any silver content in the metal at all, it is no more than 1 or 2%. Tibetan Silver is an alloy, usually Tin or Zinc, and is nickel and lead free due to allergies to this metals.
Glass bi-cone shaped beads are graduated in size and range from a pretty emerald to a pastel color. A single link chain completes the necklace.
Pendant measures 1-1/2" x 3/4".
Earrings are 2" total length and hang about 1-1/2" from ear lobe.
Listed as a set, items may be sold individually upon request.
Simple and spooky, these tiny tiny skull charms are perfect for those
that want to be spooky without having to wear huge items. Much smaller
than a dime and short, great for a little holiday fun at the office,
too. Perfect for Pirates, too!
Sterling Silver Skull charms head pins and fish hook style ear wire.
Arrives boxed, ready for gift giving.
Only one pair available.
These items are currently available in the esty shop, but will be available in store as well.
Don't forget the First Annual Haunted Open House and Harvest Market are October 11-13, 2013. If you're a vendor or local artist we'd like to invite you to participate in the event or stop by and see what goodies are available.

Fun Stuff To Do For Halloween Weekend Links and Promotions
Happy Friday,
I have been so busy this week filling orders and trying to make new items that I have not had much time to do much else.
Halloween arrives on Wednesday of next week and there are some fun things happening around town.
Frightened Felons at the Old Penitentiary
Friday Oct. 26, 2012
The Old Idaho Penitentiary will once again open it's doors during the spookiest season! Walk through 140 years of history and, of course, hear about all the scary but TRUE things that happened in every hidden corner. All ages are welcome, but remember some themes can be too scary for kids under 10.
I attended last year as part of the entertainment. It is interesting and a lot of fun. History rises from the Dead for this event.
Linder Farms
A real working pumpkin farm. They are open all month, check the link for times. This is family fun, walk the maze, but don't get lost...
Home of BSU's Corn Maze.
It reads "Bronco Nation"
Field of Scrams at the Farmstead
I-84 and Eagle Road...
Where getting lost means finding fun!
I have not attended this, but I have been to the corn maze and other attractions. These are OUTDOOR events and it is COLD! Dress warmly, and bring a flash light, there isn't any electricity out in the fields or the woods and it's DARK out there!
This year is the 13th Annual Haunted World! How appropriate!
This is the largest outdoor Haunted attraction in the area, and it is very entertaining. The Haunted House and Walk through the woods is nerve-racking fun! Things jump out at you, costumed players pop out when you least expect it, diving from the corn rows or stalking you through the woods, and there are things planted and buried along the path (like trampolines) that make you feel uneasy. Spooky, scary fun!
Please remember to follow the links for information, many of these events require a ticket or admission fee. Times and dates are listed on their websites along with other information, like maps and directions.
Be safe out there this weekend!
Thank you for coming by and scaring up something to do!
The Alchemists Vessel would like to wish you a Spooktacular weekend!

Thursday Workbench Woes
Good Morning,
As I await the Blog Ring to begin again, I am left with empty space for posting.
Some of you are aware of the household incidents that have been plaguing me of late, leaks, floods, electrical wiring weirdness, wasp infestation... In the midst of all that my poor workbench has become the catch-all for odds and ends bits and pieces.
Destruction Productions presents - Alix's Workbench, Portrait of Horror.
Yes, I used to sit in that chair, and work on that table, you can see some of the items I have discussed here including a color wheel, sandpaper, a set of craft knives, my mini-torch, light box, and various tools and other equipment.
With the workbench in such a state, I have been delegated to the Dining table in the great room.
You guys are laughing now...
Since a good portion of my materials and supplies are small they require little space, or so one would think. Right. Due to the mentioned mishaps much of my shelf space has vanished, so I have managed to cram everything into the closet. When I say I work out of my closet, I ain't kidding.
The supply closet, whether you work in an office or at home, eventually you need someplace to put those things you use for work. Cubby-holes, bins, boxes, baskets, bags, nooks, crannies, shelves, drawers and the file cabinet corners are full to the brim with beads, wire, string, clasps, buttons, clay, twine, charms, ribbon, just about every conceivable and imagined item can be found with in the depths of the Supply Closet... Happy Hunting!
That's all for today. Now you have a little inside peak at the madness that is my method.
Thank you for stopping in and having a look.

Here is a very brief tutorial on how to tie Slip or Sliding knots for those Boho Macrame fashions you've been wearing.
The instructions are presented in pictures, the link will take you to another blog page for instructions.
As many of you know I have a passion for all things Monster and Macabre, my very talented friend creates some of my favorites.

Wednesday In the Studio - Movies
Wednesday is here!
My departure draws near, and I am getting excited! That's right, I said departure. Next week I will be unavailable. I am going to take some time for me before I burn out. Recharging the batteries, spending some time away from the workbench is good for everybody. There will be working, this is for sure, but for one week the blog will be sporadic at best.
Why movies today? A lot of inspiration for fashion comes from film or television. Harry Potter's knitting craze, or Hermione's "Time Turner" for instance, jewelry from the Lord Of The Rings like Arwen's Butterfly Pendant can be purchased on line or through specialty catalogs . See a piece you like on your favorite show? Try Soap Opera Jewelry, from Soap Operas to programs
like Bones, they carry replica jewelry of the pieces worn by the actors.
Below are movies that are out now, or just winding down their theater runs that I would like see, not only for inspiration on style, but because I am interested in the story as well. They all have a Gothic appeal from your classic ghost story, to Edgar Allan Poe and a re-telling of Snow White.
First is The Woman in Black with Danille Ratcliff.
Next is The Raven with John Cusack. My friend, Lucritia, and I must go see this together!
A dark comedy Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp. This promises to be fun.
Not yet out in theaters Snow White and The Huntsman. This looks like an interesting retelling of a favorite Fairy Tale.
Thank you for stopping and having a look. Perhaps you will find inspiration and entertainment at the movies this Summer.
