Candace is so crazy about Candy Corn that after I fashion her tiny face she begs me to dress her entirely in Candy Corn Fabric! I add her ears and a black bow with a pearl. I make very sure that I add the tiny red felt heart on her right foot that signifies that she is a Heartfelt Mouse?1981. Then I give her a nice long tail. You would think that Candace would have to see her dentist a LOT. But no....perfect little teeth. She holds a teenie tiny plate with three, count them THREE hand molded Candy Corns. A mother can only do so much. She gets straight A's, always does her chores, is the first one dressed for church on Sunday...but she is addicted to Candy Corn. Candace will come to you in her specially sized crush-proof box.

New In The Studio - Earrings

Good Morning,

Today's blog is brief.  I would like to share a piece I created for a challenge offered to a group I belong to on Facebook.  Challenge accepted.

The challenge: make a piece of jewelry based on a song.  Not as easy as it sounds.

I chose "Spooky Little Girl", by The Zombies.  How could I resist?  Halloween is right around the corner and I have a penchant for things dark and eerie.

Created from 925 Sterling Silver wire, genuine Jet and Amber beads with Sterling Silver Bat charms.  These have not been listed, as I am waiting for the end of the challenge to make them available.

This was a fun project and I thoroughly enjoyed making them.

Halloween Decoration Sconce Felted Mice Ghost Fall Scene

 This miniature mouse scene is built within a wooden sconce handmade of 3/8" wood. It is 9" in height, 4" wide and 4" deep. It can be set on a shelf or hung from a peg. The second photo shows the whole in the top for hanging. The scene is Halloween Night and Mama and Child Mouse are Trick or Treating. Mama is dressed in a black plaid outfit with orange pumpkins on it. Baby is dressed as a Ghost. Mama carries Black Jack-o-Lantern bag with lollypops and the Baby carries a teenie tiny handmade strawbasket with candy corn on it. They are accompanied by their faithful black cat Minerva. The background is complete with spooky black wooden tree, a miniature cornstalk, a black picket fence and circling sparkly ghosts. In the foreground sits a handmade miniature jack-o-lantern. This is a ooak miniature scene. The back is signed and dated by the artist. Destined to be a collector's item for sure.

Good Luck Charm Coin and Quartz Crystal Jewelry Set

This lovely set is simple and understated with an oriental appeal.  Wear as a charm of good luck and well-being, or just because it is pretty.  Will look great with everything in your wardrobe from Office attire to that Date Dress, or casual outings with friends.
Sterling Silver-plated Chinese Coin charms are double sided with a stylized Dragon on one side and four Chinese Characters on the back: Love, Friendship, Good Luck and Fortune, and Good and Honest.

The witch hat earrings are made with Swarovski crystals: black artemis beads, black and orange margarita beads and black cosmic rings. These earring always remind me of the Wicked Witch of the West from "The Wizard of Oz" when I wear them.

"Wicked" earrings are strung on sterling silver 22 gauge headpins and hang from sterling silver 20 gauge ear wires. The earrings measure approximately 1 1/2' from the top of the ear wire.

This morning The Alchemists Vessel would like to invite you to join us this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October, 11 - 13, 2013, for the First Annual Haunted Open House and Harvest Market.

 

We are very excited to be hosting and participating this year.  Vendors with in-store displays are already there, and we are pleased to introduce the general public to some wonderful artists and great gifts, or that special something you just can't be with out.

The Market will be held indoors and out. Yesterday was a gorgeous day at the store, the sun was out, it was warm and a light breeze came through every now and again, I am hoping the weather holds through the show weekend.

*Market Vendors will be set up on the other side of the tree to the left and stretch across the lot from East to West.  Street signs will also point shoppers to the event.  A-1 Video Game Exchange will be participating as well.

There is some light Dark Decor in the store as we get into the Spirit if the Holiday.  We have kept the decor to a minimum as not to interfere with shoppers or vendors indoor tables.  Some of the decorations will be set up outside or made available to vendors if they wish to have a little spooky in their space.

We are looking forward to the show, visiting with vendors, talking to other local talented folks, and chatting with shoppers to help them find that perfect piece or gift they have been looking for.

Today I thought it would be fun to introduce a vendor or two attending the up coming Harvest Market, Oct., 11 - 13, 2013.

Duck and Kia Anvilkin / Drethen Leathers

Kia makes jewelry and Duck is a leather tooler, and for a while they were part of a quartet behind Drethen Leathers.

This photo was found on the web, and not from their actual work, it is meant represent the beautiful work you will find on their tables, not limited to masks, they have also have jewelry, cell phone accessories, hair accessories, Hand-bound journals and more.  I own a journal, a hair wrap, a pair of leather frog earrings and a Leather frog cell-phone decoration, from this wonderful group of folks.

*This is a paid event, Admission is $25.00 and you must wear a hat.

Sarah Shannon of Wire Witchery will be in attendance, well her table will be any way.  As a participating member of the shop Sarah's wares are always available for shopping or place your custom order through or shop or with Sarah in person.

Here we have a small selection of Sarah's ready-to-wear collection, including: Wire Wrapped Pendants, Gemstone Pendants, Crystal Wire Wrapped Rings and a bookmark or two.  Sarah's item range from $75.00 to $7.00 all hand-crafted with meticulous care.

Alixandra Browning, Fearless Leader, Certified Jewelry Design and Repair Technician, Proprietor of Little Shop of Artists, The Alchemists Vessel, Blackbird Metalworks and Arachknits, will be available to assist with anything and everything from Vendor questions to shop sales, to manning the store and her own goods on display through out the shop.

Chainmaille, Sterling Silver and Gemstone, Artisan Jewlery, Hand-knit items, and Crafting Classes are all available at Little Shop of Artists and taught by Alixandra herself or by the participating artist holding the class.  Professional, knowledgeable, friendly and always available to assist customers with their particular needs.

Shelly Moody of The Muddfip Photographer and Green Witch Handmade will not be in attendance, as she has other commitments, but her wares will be available in-store.   High School Seniors, Families, Newly Weds, Engagements, Parties, Group or Organization events, come on down and grab one of Shelly's cards and make your appointment for those Holiday Cards, Yearbook Portraits or to capture those special occasion moments!

The Muddfip Photographer - Green Witch Handmades in-store display, mounted photos, jewelry, crocheted items and handmade wooden Spindles, works for yarn or your hair to keep it out of your yarn.
