There have been some changes made, and some of what to expect in 2017.
We have closed the shop on Scott's Marketplace, and the shop on Facebook, we are still available on Etsy, the Official Website or The CraftStar.
You may still find us at any of the links below or the menu bars to the right or left on this page. There are new items, materials and Chain Maille weaves coming to the shop soon, and as always at the end of year, we are now closed through New Years for inventory and creating.

One of my very favorite holidays is right around the corner, Halloween. Today's selection of items comes from five unique shop on The CraftStar.

Candace is so crazy about Candy Corn that after I fashion her tiny face
she begs me to dress her entirely in Candy Corn Fabric! I add her ears
and a black bow with a pearl. I make very sure that I add the tiny red
felt heart on her right foot that signifies that she is a Heartfelt
Mouse?1981. Then I give her a nice long tail. You would think that
Candace would have to see her dentist a LOT. But no....perfect little
teeth. She holds a teenie tiny plate with three, count them THREE hand
molded Candy Corns. A mother can only do so much. She gets straight A's,
always does her chores, is the first one dressed for church on
Sunday...but she is addicted to Candy Corn. Candace will come to you in
her specially sized crush-proof box.
Wickedly awesome! Share greetings with this amazing card, which
works for Halloween as a witch, OR it works for any occasion if you
interpret this as Maleficent! She sort of looks like her, don't you
think?? Blank inside, a greeting can be added at your request.
All
our cards are handmade with acid-free cardstock, inks and
embellishments. Everything is cut, stamped, colored and assembled by
hand, so each piece is one-of-a-kind! No two will be exactly alike. Some
cards however will contain special embellishments that cannot be
duplicated. Those cards will be listed as OOAK and cannot be reproduced
in any way. Otherwise, we can always change a color for you or create a
custom design to your liking, just send us a message and we'll make
something special just for you.
Please note that colors may appear slightly different in person, depending on your monitor.
The
Royal Pumpkin is a smoke-free, pet-free environment. All cards come
with a matching envelope and safely packaged in an acid-free clear
sleeve for protection.

Today I would like to share several new pieces in the shop. Great for men or teens, rockers, bikers, Viking Warriors or Thanes of the Realm.

Mechanix Genuine Hematite and Pyrite Necklace
Masculine and understated is this very muted color genuine Hematite
and Pyrite necklace. Perfect for the Mechanic, Warrior or Musician in
your life.
Genuine Hematite and Pyrite alternate around the 18"
length of metal Tiger Tail beading wire. Finished with a Lobster Claw
clasp.
Pyrite is a very protective stone, shielding the user from
negative energy of all kinds. Pyrite blocks energy leaks and mends auric
tears. Carry Pyrite in your pocket to protect you from both
environmental pollution and physical danger. Pyrite also promotes good
physical health and emotional well-being.
Hematite from the Greek
"haema" meaning blood, due to the red color seen on the surface of the
stone before cutting and polishing. Containing mainly iron, it is found
in both crystalline and rough forms. Warriors carried this stone as they
thought it made them invulnerable and indestructible.
"Hit the lights!" The words every concert goer longs to hear, it
means the show is starting! This masculine and handsome necklace would
be perfect for the stage. Matte black Jet beads separate the unique type
of Jasper called Camostone (it looks likes camouflage).
Jet is
not actually a gemstone, but a "Stone" created of Fossilized Wood,
sometimes called a "mineraloid", due to its organic origins.
Jasper
is an impure variety of silica, usually ranging in color from reds and
browns to greens. Jasper has been thought of as a stone of protection.

total length. Genuine Jet and Camostone (Jasper) beads are laced on
Tiger Tail beading wire and finished with a Lobster Claw clasp with
extension chain.
Genuine Jet and Pyrite beads chase each other along the 18 length of this heavy duty necklace. Masculine and handsome.

Part of our Gems for Gents line of jewelry, this masculine and
attractive necklace is very handsome, and would be appropriate for women
as well, it hangs at 18" total length. A beautiful flat oval Brecciated
Jasper Bead is centered and framed by oval shaped Pyrite, the
intermittent pattern of Jasper and Pyrite continue around the length of
the necklace.
Genuine Brecciated Jasper (Red Jasper with Black
Matrix), and Pyrite beads are strung on Tiger Tail beading wire and
completed with a silver base metal Lobster Claw clasp.

Like the look of maille, but don't want all the weight? Aluminum is a perfect alternative. Many weaves can be made with this fun and lightweight material and they look great too.

The elf has been busy this weekend, weaving and linking rings to create new and wonderful bracelets in bright and colorful anodized aluminum.
If you love the look of Chainmaille but think the pieces are too heavy in all that stainless steal and brass, we have a beautiful solution. Today the blog has some helpful hints for listing those wonderful handmade items you create.
Let's begin with Titles and Tags. Depending on where you list your items, character count and number of tags may vary, but the process is the same. Choose a title for your item.
Does it have a name? Many artists choose to call their piece something, names like "Emma", "Aurora", "Bob" to differentiate one piece from another, things like, "Paramour", "Enchantress", and "Princess" work just as well.
What is it? Bracelet, Earrings, Painted Box, Etched Glass? Be sure to be specific.
Helpful Hint: Many sites have crawlers or bots that will pick up on words in your title, their own little SEO searchers, make sure everything is spelled correctly. Check out the sites categories and try to include one word in your title that matches the category you would like your item to be found in. Spelling, spell-check does not catch all errors and even insists words are wrong if it does not recognize them. Take the time to check your spelling, and double check those triple score words, like Labyrinth and Cephalopod, twice.
Example: Fafnir Chainmaille Silver and Gold Dragonscale Bracelet
*It doesn't have to have a name, Chainmaille Bracelet works just as well, or you may include the name at the end of the title instead: Chainmaille Dragonscale Bracelet - Fafnir
Tags: Tags should reflect the above, and they should also be descriptive if possible. Ask yourself these questions when thinking about tags: What is it? Who is it for? What does it do? What color is it? What is it made from? Is it a particular fashion or style?
Example: bracelet, women, teens, jewelry, chainmaille, gold, silver, fashion, Rocker, Biker, Fantasy, handmade, dragonscale
Helpful Hint: Include words from your title in your tags as well. If your stuck you can also use words like: "traditional", "modern", or "classic".
Photography: Is it necessary to have a professional take your photos? No, many do, but most handmade artists are also the photographer. Getting that perfect shot is tough and there are all kinds of how-tos around the web. Here are a couple of more suggestions.
Do not use your cell phone. Just no. Although the picture looks great on the phone's screen it will not translate well to a site and will look blurry and out of focus. If you must use your cellphone, get a "selfie stick", this will help steady the phone for a better picture. Go through the phone's photo settings, many times the app has different size settings, use them, they will help.
Use at least four pictures, even if two are kind of the same. Try to shoot the item from different angles, both sides, from the top down, on a different background and a close up of the detail.
Helpful Hint: Get to know your digital camera. Does it have a MACRO setting? The Macro setting is used to magnify and capture very small things in focus and detail.

Almost there. You have a title, tags, and a photo. Now comes the hard part, the description. Should it be long or short? What information should be included? What does one say about the item?
Does it have a story? You can make one up. Where did it come from? What did it experience on its journey? What can the customer expect from the piece? Is it heavy? Light weight? Comfortable?
Take the time to jot down words on a list that you can refer to when listing the item and construct a simple sentence around it.
Example: This pair of earrings is light weight and comfortable enough for all day wear.
Completed Listing Example:

This beautiful chainmaile bracelet is elegant and understated.
Simply stunning in Silver over Gold rings, one might imagine why a
Dragon is required to guard a King's horde. Named after the dragon of
myth that once guarded a great King's treasure, Fafnir is sure to keep
