The Muddfip Photographer: Featured Artist Thursday

Good Morning,

The weekend is almost here and that means fun in the sun, down by the river, the creek, the pond, the swimming hole, a walk in the woods, along the beach, things to do, people to see, and pictures to take.

This weeks Featured Artist is my Multi-talented friend, Shelly Moody, The Muddfip Photographer.  I can't take a photo to save my life and am amazed at the composition and quality of other people's photos.  Shelly has an an amazing eye for composition and her black and white photographs are stunning.

The Muddfip Photographer may be found on Facebook, won't you stop by and give her a Like.

What Shelly has to say about her page:

Hello and Welcome! My name is Shelly and this page features photographs, all of them taken by me. All photos are copyrighted, so please do not use without permission. All photos on this page are available for purchase. Please contact me regarding prices and sizes. Photos will be signed and numbered. I am happy to ship them to any location. Thank you for taking time to browse my photos!

Have a blessed day!

The photos below are taken from her Facebook page.  I have tried to include a variety of subjects that she takes, from nature to industrial buildings and machinery.   All of the prints are available for sale.

I love frogs!

Any of these photos would make excellent prints or  posters, cards or stationery.  Decorating in a "Steampunk" theme?  Those huge gears on the water would make the perfect wall hanging!

Thank you for stopping by and having a read.  I hope you will also stop by and take a The Muddfip Photographers page.  There are more wondrous and wonderful photos to look at and choose from.

The Alchemists Vessel would like to wish you a pleasant day!

What's In The Shop?

Good Monday Morning to you.

Today's blog is rather short, I spent some time this weekend learning a new method of creating pendants, and though it did not go as I was in hope it might, I will be trying again.

A couple of weeks back I mentioned that I had acquired some Sterling Silver plated charms, after sorting through them, I have come up with six pairs of earrings, some are typical, some are unique and all are hand crafted or assembled as the case may be.

As always, items may be found by visiting The Alchemists Vessel.  The pair's title may be found beneath the picture and corresponds to the items on the shop pages as well.

The next item is a Copper bracelet.  One of the oldest metals in use, archeological sites have uncovered copper pieces dating back to 8700 BC, citing Cyprus as one of the major suppliers of Copper in the Ancient World.  Not only was it was an important material for forging Bronze weapons, it was also used for creating jewelry and ritual ornaments.  Reminiscent of the Mediterranean, this copper bracelet was forged from copper wire and disks; antiqued, spun, cut and punched by hand, the exception is the manufactured antiqued Toggle Clasp.  Copper is associated with Aphrodite (Greek) and Venus (Roman), the goddesses of love, copper in its metaphysical meaning, represents love; it has great connectivity and mixes well with other metals and natural gemstones.  Beautiful on its own in this simple Chain Maille weave bracelet.

Don't have an Etsy account?  Never fear!  You can shop with us on Facebook, too!  Visit The Alchemists Vessel theme shop, and receive and immediate 10% discount off your the items listed retail price.  No messy coupon codes or other stuff to enter!  How convenient and easy!  Link not working?  You can also click through directly from the Facebook page, follow this link: The Alchemists Vessel and click on the button in the right hand corner beneath the cover photo.

Any or all of these links may be found to the right in the menu bar of the blog.

Thank you for stopping by and having a look.  We would like to wish you a wonderful week.

We now have a quick and easy way to leave feedback.  Beneath the post you will now find "reaction buttons" Funny, Interesting, Cool" etc. Fill in a circle, feedback done.

In My Studio - Charms and Parts

This morning I would like to share some the cool components I use in crafting and creating.  Some are purchased from a local supplier here in town, others were purchased from Pims Supplies on Etsy.  With the market coming up this weekend, production has been put on hold in favor of packing and preparing for the Public!  We have things in the works at the Vessel, never fear!

We have some new Brass components in the studio. Never be afraid to shop your local stores for unique and interesting finds like this brass Octopus Locket with a magnetic closure.  We have several new items with a sea theme.

Some of the cutest charms I have seen for jewelry in a long time are these brass Filigree or latticed Fish / Dolphin charms.  For the Earring Pair "Fishing Gear", soon to be available on Etsy, these were purchased from Pims Supplies.  Her shop has wonderful things!  Give it a look see!

Requested by a friend for a Frog Bracelet, I have found these adorable Sterling Silver Plated Frog Prince charms, and you just know I bought a lot more than one design!  A local supply store find!  Soon to be available in the shop charm bracelets, earrings and perhaps a necklace or two with Swans, and Dragons, and Airplanes, and Frog Princes!

Last but not least in an effort to continue to bring new things to the shop, The Alchemists Vessel will be offering custom Chain Maille watch bands and complete Watches.  First up to be chained will be this one, a Unisex style square watch face.  Stainless Steel with a fresh new battery.

Just a gentle reminder, the Market is this weekend!  5610 Chinden Blvd., at the Fair Grounds, Expo Idaho Building!  Admission is $2.00 at the door, and there are lots of cool booths to check out and shop!
