Shabby Chic Violin, made from a wood cut out, handmade, primed and painted in sage green, covered in delicate white lace, 4 cream pearl strings follow it from the scroll to the bottom, a very light lace pattern was spray painted on the body, the strings at the bottom end up in a green flowered cameo, daisy stickers and bow, green wired rhinestone bling, 2 green rhinestone lil angels cover the body. The scroll/top is covered with a little vintage Christmas tree broche full of rhinestones and a crystal chandelier tear drop.

Guitar, Handmade Mosaic Guitar "Broken Songs and Melodies"

This little guy started life as a guitar for a child. When I found it, it was tucked away in someones attic just longing to have new life breathed into it, as I do with all my recycled mosaic items. An up cycled, recycled piece of art. Many, many hours and weeks later I ended up with what I call "Broken Songs and Melodies" mosaic guitar. This almost 31 inches long, formerly Acoustic Mosaic Guitar evolved from unusable to a decorative wall hanging for the visual enjoyment of the music lover, music artist, friends of music or a protégé. Ready to be hung in your home, office, class room , studio or even a gift for that special one. Display this baby where the sunlight hits it and it will throw off lil sparkles and reflections from the mirror glass on the neck. Every lil cut Mosaic Piece I placed with utter loving care so as to preserve some of the patterns of the Vintage China Plate Rims. One small piece at a time, utterly time consuming, but I love what I do. I covered this guitar with a mosaic of broken, cut fine china porcelain plate rims and complimented it with stained glass. The neck is covered in mirror glass in the warm tones of bronze, peach and silver. I restrung the two strings which were left with burgundy pearls. It is trimmed out in ivory gimp to protect your furniture or hands while handling it. Have you ever tried to restring a guitar string with single pearls, “boyng” the steel string went and pearls are flying all over my studio. Mosaic Lazy Susan, handmade, Broken, cut china plate rim Mosaic

Handmade Mosaic large Lazy Susan. I found this vintage Lazy Susan which had been discarded for its terrible looks.
I sanded, primed, and painted it white, distressed it a bit, covered the top with a handmade Mosaic made from already damaged cut up vintage fine bone china plate rims and stained glass. The mosaic also has two lil porcelain girls in them who used to have a couple of feather angel wings, which I removed. The mosaic is grouted in a antique white grout and sealed. It still turns very nicely, as a lazy susan should.
Measurements: 16 inches in diameter and 2 inches high 
Uses are endless, one can use it for the obvious in the dining room now for your condiments, napkins etc.
In your office for your pencil holders, scissor, the cup with pens, scotch tape and such....
In the baby's room for the powders, creams, wipes and lotions, one turn around and everything is right handy.
I am sure one can find even that your cup cakes look fabulous on them, even a cake. Or just set it on the counter and have your guest admire your treasure.

Broken cut China Mosaic Cake Dome handmade w Glass Pedestal Cake Stand

Handmade Mosaic Cake Dome with Glass Pedestal Cake Stand. The Mosaic is created from cut, vintage china plate rims, combined with colored matching stained glass. I switched the old wooden knob out to a pretty Green Knob and placed some handmade clay roses in a strategic spot. The Mosaic is grouted and sealed, the cake dome server surrounded by clear pearls at the edge. This was a vintage Aluminum cake dome, which no one uses anymore. But look at me now, it says! Fully usable, and all pretty in greens, dark reds and complimenting colors. Cake Cover Measurements: 11 x 4.5" Glass Pedestal cake stand: 12.75 x 4.88" Generously sized, enjoy and thank you for looking.

 These have got to be my favorite pieces in her shop.  Wonderfully unique and  original, perfect for the Musician in your home.

Handmade Shabby Chic Mosaic Violin broken cut china plate mosaic violin 

Have the Blue's.....not with this beauty....an unplayable violin transformed via fresh primer and paint in off white, a bit distressed for the shabby, worn look, a handmade Mosaic into a beautiful gift for a music protégé, wall art, table center piece, so many occasion to use this beauty... This violin is meticulously mosaic-ed with the most beautiful, hand cut china plate rim mosaic tiles. Cascading lush blooms and roses on some of my favorite vintage bone china/porcelain dinner and breakfast plates were cut into a very beautiful mosaic tesserae to cover this violin; The hour glass "waist line" on this violin is embellished with a focal and surrounding tiles. The violin is filled in with white, all kinds of blue's, even glitter tiles and some pale pink stained Glass tiles. Every lil cut Mosaic Piece I placed with utter loving care so as to preserve some of the patterns of the Vintage China Plate Rims. One small piece at a time, utterly time consuming, but I love what I do. All china plates used here are in very subtle shades. The strings on this beautiful art piece are a set of ivory pearls. The tail piece is accented with handmade clay roses and some bling. This is a gift that everyone likes to receive, music lover and others alike. I finished this violin with a very light antique white colored grout to give it even more charm and a finished look. This vintage violin was rescued from a thrift store, unplayable, it's curtain calls long gone...but - finally! For a festive center piece and those spots that need a little shining, a dazzling handmade mosaic has been applied to this violin. A master piece transcended...what a gift for the right person. Artwork is 'Trilobite: Terataspis grandis' created from cut paper by artist Tiffany Miller Russell. This listing is for the original sculpture.

Terataspis grandis was one of the largest (and spiniest) trilobites. He lived in the Devonian period and grew to about two feet, far overshadowing most trilobites that reached two to six inches.

This original paper sculpture is created from colored and textured specialty papers. The papers are cut flat, then shaped and layered into a low relief collage. The three dimensional nature of the work captures light throughout the day for an everchanging experience!

Shadow box frame is custom built 32 x 22, rubbed black with a beautiful rust colored undercoat.

Moose Art Print 8 x 10 inches, cabin decor

Moose Art Print, 8 x 10 inches of my original wall hanging. The original painting was made from a piece of cedar wood that I cut with a saw and sanded down by hand to get a nice soft feel and texture to paint on. I painted using acrylic paint and around the sides and back were created with a wood stain. I also wood burned into parts of the painting to give it more texture and accentuate parts of the painting.

Print size: 8 x 10 inches.

Three Great Gifts To Give Presenting Handmade Artists Site

Good Morning.

Today I would like to feature some truly unique, clever and beautiful, handmade from start finish gift ideas.  All of today's featured gifts are from shops on handmadeartists.com.  A great site to find things handcrafted by some amazing artists and craft-people.  There is no question here about re-sellers, these items are handmade by the shop owner.

Although I invited any and all shop owners to participate, I only received three entries for this weeks blog, so I turn the post over the them.  Hoping to pique your curiosity enough to click the link and have a look see at some of their other offerings as well.  Looking is always free!

Brown Leather with Green Tree Agate Beads and Peace charm

Product Details: This bracelet was handcrafted using brown leather and round green tree agate beads. It sports a shell button for closure and a Peace charm.

It measures approximately 7 1/4 inches

Hand Bound Book Wings of Scarlet

 Product Details: It may be fall but I'm holding on to warmer weather with this gorgeous 6" x 9" book covered in a fabric of red tulips. The colors are shades of scarlet and greens popping on a black background. The red was difficult for me to photograph perfectly, the 4th photo is the actual cover scanned on my scanner and represents the colors a little better.

Inside I have bound 160 pages (front & back) of premium 80# acid free white drawing paper excellent for pencil, colored pencil and charcoal also good for pen and ink, marker and oil pastels. I have them sewn with a hand waxed red cotton thread and ribbon bound them with a 7/8" scarlet grosgrain ribbon. As with all my ribbon bound books, refills can be ordered once the book has been filled, please contact me if you are interested in one - it's simple to replace, I'll be happy to walk you through it.

Handmade Mosaic Tray shabby cottage chic china broken plate rims Mosaic Tray clay roses pearls

 Product Details:   Glamorous shabby chic cottage Mosaic Tray. This was a vintage silver plate tray, Silver plate all gone, I sanded it down, primed it, it got a coat of cottage white paint. A lil bit of distress to give it that worn well loved look. I then proceeded to cut up my already damaged fine bone china plate rims and stained glass and filled the inside with this lovely mosaic. Roses and blooms are climbing on this tray like a briar bush in the wild, so romantic.

I then filled the rim with lil pearls and tulle roses all the way around to give it that finished look. A lil arrangement of handmade clay roses in the left corner and this Mosaic tray is brimming with beauty.
The mosaic is grouted in an antique white grout and sealed. I showed it photographed in different light and it can be hung up on the wall too.

It is a footed tray and I tied a pale cream organza ribbon to two of the the feet, tied it in a nice bow and it can hang on your wall..
The colors are the truest on the close ups of the pictures.
