Good Morning,

It has come to my attention that I have way too much stuff, and by stuff I mean supplies that I have purchased over the years and have found that I began, finished or stopped the project or that I never began at all, and I have supplies for all of them

In the interest of keeping things more organized I have opened a sister-shop to The Alchemists Vessel, Silent Moon Supplies, on The CraftStar.  The shop is slowly filling up with Sterling Silver Links and Findings, new commercial materials in their original packaging, Genuine Gemstone strands, and hand made items.

Currently there are 11 items in the shop, we will be adding more by the day and the week.  A sampling of what is available now.

Fashion Trends For 2016

Good Morning,

This morning's blogs takes a look at what is in style for Hair, Jewelry, Clothing and Color for 2016.

This year's Spring must haves include Faded Denim, and soft pastel colors.  Jacket or jeans, even shirts are popular, and never really go out of style.

Ladies we do love to do our hair, and this year the Braid is back in fashion.  From the simple plait to more complicated weaving, the braid is always pretty and can be worn messy or tidy for work or play.

Jewelry trends, believe it or not Chain Maille and Gemstones are back, in new and lovely shapes and colors.  Stack-able bracelets, Bangles, and Cuffs.  Spikes and Nails, Chains and Leather.

This years trending colors are Baby Blue ("Serenity"), Pastel Pink ("Rose Quartz") and Orange, that is really more of a soft peach or mango color.

A Medieval Sword with Scabbard necklace. This realistic sword has gorgeous detailing in the metal scabbard and sword, lovely design. The sword is held tight within it's scabbard with a friction fit. Being very active and lots of movement the sword could actually depart from the scarab, wearing as a decorative piece of jewelry the friction fit works nicely. I do have another option with chain attached to sword and scabbard (safety chain) both accented with the glass blood drop that dangles from the scabbard, nice eye catching effect.

Olivia goes out and visits a lot of her neighbors, and asks them all what they think Penelope Oropendola and the others should do about their dilemma.

She finally gets an answer and helps Penelope and her Oropendola community. Olivia Ocelot  has come to the rescue, and she is very happy. Next, she is summoned by the dangerous and powerful Jason Jaguar, King of the Rain Forest. She goes to see him with great fear and trembling, and the story comes to a happy ending. Olivia Ocelot is very, very happy.

All That Glitters Is Not Gold

Today's blog is brief.  The Alchemists Vessel has a new material, Faux Gold, lovely aluminum rings in gold tones / color.

Like the look of maille, but don't want all the weight?  Aluminum is a perfect alternative.  Many weaves can be made with this fun and lightweight material and they look great too.

Seen here is 16g Faux Gold and Purple rings, anodized aluminum comes in a variety of colors.  Celtic Star Pendant.

Currently available in Celtic Visions Bracelets as well. 

Many of the items in the shop may be made with Faux Gold rings instead of the Natural (silver) aluminum, stop by and choose your favorite.  New items are listed often, bookmark, favorite, like or follow us for all the latest products.

Synthetic opals are artificially made and although their structure is very similar to the structure of precious opals, their value is (from obvious reasons) much less than the value of the real “thing”.

Synthetic opals usually display a very distinctive snakeskin pattern and they show brighter colors than natural opals. The spots of color are larger but they interact with light in a very similar way to natural opals.

Lab Grown or Lab Created Opal are terms generally refer to polymer-impregnated opals, which are 70-90% silica (from which natural opal is formed) and 10-30% resin. Lab created opals exhibit fire play resembling the finest opal at a small fraction of the cost.
