Today's blog is brief. I would like to share a piece I created for a challenge offered to a group I belong to on Facebook. Challenge accepted.
The challenge: make a piece of jewelry based on a song. Not as easy as it sounds.
I chose "Spooky Little Girl", by The Zombies. How could I resist? Halloween is right around the corner and I have a penchant for things dark and eerie.
Created from 925 Sterling Silver wire, genuine Jet and Amber beads with Sterling Silver Bat charms. These have not been listed, as I am waiting for the end of the challenge to make them available.
This was a fun project and I thoroughly enjoyed making them.

Poppet visits October. After all, October is a state of mind.
There she finds Grim Reading.
Grim comes with a tiny hand made scythe. Grim is about as October as a Poppet can be.
Grim Reading is cold cast marble, is about 2 inches tall and hand painted and signed by the artist.
Even scary Poppets are made with love.
This unique nautical wall lamp is handmade and painted to order.
Lifelike and life-sized, it will light up your room as well as spark a
conversation.
The porthole latch serves as a light switch and the vintage 40 watt Edison bulb is included with the piece.
The standard light socket will work with any general purpose light bulb; however, a 40 watt bulb is recommended.
Each item is hand crafted and made to order. Please allow up to 3 weeks for delivery.

This enormous cutie is

use him as a body pillow! He is the perfect addition to any
nautical-themed playroom or nursery. You don't even have to be a kid to
want to cuddle up to one of these, even adults find him irresistible to
touch and play with! And, at 7 feet long, from the top of his fins to
the tip of his two long arms, boy what a conversation piece he is!
This
big buy can be made in just about any color combination. Just select
your color preference before checkout! If there is a color combo you
don't see simply select "custom color" and put it in the notes and I
will be happy to accommodate you. Also, I always use a sucker side
fabric with some sort of dot or circle pattern so the underside of the
tentacles looks like suckers.
Your giant squid plush can be made
with plain eyes, cute anime eyes as shown in the last photo of the pink
squid, or with one giant eye in the front like the red squid in the
fourth photo. At this time Etsy only allows for 2 drop down variations,
so please list your eye style preference in the "Notes to Seller" area
at checkout, thanks! If you do not list a preference I will give your
squid the plain eye style.
Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for the
making of your amazing giant squid plush as he is quite large and takes
some time to complete. As always, my creations come from a smoke and pet
odor free home.
Do not be alarmed at the seemingly small size of
the shipping box! The bulk of these guys is mostly stuffing, so I curl
them up into a 12"x12"x12" box to save you money on shipping!
